A sports massage appointment with Karen at the Croydon Park clinic.

Sports massage isn't only for professional athletes. It can benefit anyone who exercises, plays sport or regularly places physical demands on their body, from runners, cyclists and gym-goers to dancers, weekend sportspeople and those returning to activity after a break.
Your treatment is based on the type of activity you do, the areas of your body working hardest and any tightness, soreness or restrictions you are experiencing. A combination of firm massage, targeted remedial techniques and trigger-point therapy may be used to work on the muscles most affected by your training or sport.
How remedial massage treats a specific injurySports massage may help:
Over the years, I have worked extensively with Ironman athletes, triathletes, runners, cyclists, competitive swimmers, tennis, soccer and rugby players. This experience has given me a strong understanding of the different physical demands each sport places on the body and the importance of adapting every treatment to the individual.
When needed, I have also worked alongside physiotherapists, chiropractors, exercise physiologists and sports coaches to ensure massage treatment complements the client's training, recovery or rehabilitation plan.
More about Karen's training and experienceSports massage can be included as part of your regular training and injury-prevention routine, when preparing for an event or following a particularly demanding period of activity. The pressure and techniques are always adjusted to suit your body, your training schedule and what you need from the treatment.
You don't have to be an elite athlete to benefit. If you enjoy being active and want to look after your body, sports massage can help keep you doing what you love.
